PKVY Phase III is a 3-year programme being implemented in Odisha from Rabi 2024-25 in 13 blocks under 4 districts in an area of 6500 ha with a budgetary allocation of Rs.2088.45 lakh for 3 years. Farmers are incentivized with Rs.5000/- per ha per year for 3 years through DBT. It aims at development of sustainable models of organic farming through a mix of traditional knowledge and modern science to ensure long term soil fertility build-up, resource conservation and helps in climate change adaptation and mitigation. It is also to promote natural resource based integrated & climate resilient sustainable farming system that ensures on-farm nutrient recycling & minimize dependence of farmers on external inputs thereby enhancing farmers net income per unit of land. It has manifold objectives such as sustainably produce chemical free & nutritious food for human consumption, adoption of eco-friendly low-cost traditional techniques & farmer friendly technologies, empower farmers through their own institutional development in the form of clusters and group with capacity to manage production, processing, value addition, certification and make farmers entrepreneurs through direct market linkages with local & national market.
